Job Description

COO – General Manager

Marketplace Professional Staffing is conducting an Executive Search for a COO – General Manager. The successful candidate will have to provide hands-on day-to-day operational leadership including recruiting, training for new brokers, and optimize necessary administrative functionality to support the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Effective day to day leadership and management to ensure company has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems to effectively grow the firm, ensure financial strength and operating efficiency by implementing long-range goals, strategies, plans, and policies.
  • Collaborative problem solving in cooperation with our brokers and administrative staff.
  • Analyzing operations to evaluate and measure individual performance, determining areas of potential cost reduction, program improvement or policy change.
  • Coordinating the development, communication and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes.
  • Leading and continuously developing our team towards high-performance goal achievement while fostering a success-oriented, accountability environment.
  • Achieving the organization's overall strategic goals and contributing to the sales and profitability requirements of the business as determined by the strategic plans.
  • Assessing performance data including financial, sales, and activity reports and spreadsheets, to monitor and measure departmental productivity, goal achievement, and overall operational effectiveness.
  • Managing the preparation and maintenance of reports necessary to carry out the functions of the organization.
  • Preparing periodic reports for management, as necessary or requested, to track strategic goal accomplishment.
  • Creating and maintaining a meaningful scoreboard for the company.
  • Maintaining awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customers, markets, new industry developments and standards, and being aware of any opportunities that the organization can leverage.
  • Hiring Agents & Staff with drive, willing to work in a competitive rewarding environ, operating as a business within the business while supporting the team towards strategic objectives.
  • Developing a team of brokers in a collaborative environment while enhancing individual performance to its full potential.
  • Training brokers recruits in all aspects of the commercial real estate industry in a classroom setting providing current industry information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Strong expertise and experience with CRE related contracts and related financial calculations.
  • Diligent, focused, wise, forward-thinking, practicing the highest ethical standards and exuding an appropriate professional image.
  • Well-organized, prioritizes effectively and efficiently, self-directed team player.
  • Strategic thinker allocating resources effectively.
  • Strong leadership, management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to lead in a high velocity work environment.
  • Leads brokers to high performance on an individual and team basis.
  • Articulate, relational, ready to develop, educate, and coach.
  • Excels in time and priority management.
  • Solid comprehension of back-office requirements like finance & accounting, people development & HR, marketing & communication.
